So you've read an episode of Duke Slade and wonder who this guy is. Well, after 22+ years of making a living behind the wheel, I've seen all kinds of drivers out there. The vast majority are true professionals, but there are a few, how shall we say, less-than-professional types cruising the highways. These are the drivers who give all professional drivers a bad name.

Duke Slade came out of my many years of meeting and observing these drivers. All of these less-than-stellar types have been lumped into one guy - Duke Slade. While these stories are figments of my imagination, most are based on something I've seen in the real world. I'm sure we've all seen Duke out there on the road somewhere.

I've tried to write each episode so you could just pick one out, read it, hopefully get a chuckle, and move on. No particular order. Any episode could follow any other episode. My aim with Duke is to create a fun little short story-ette that you can smile at and say "yeah, I just saw him yesterday."
