Hey folks - In May I showed you a press release from a company who has created a documentary about the life we live out here. Curious as always, I ordered a copy of it so I could get a look at what they had done and decide for myself whether they had done it right.
It came priority mail and well packaged in a hard plastic video cover which I am sure will last longer than my VCR.
"A Mistress Called The Road" is a good look into the hearts and lives of three drivers. One is Byron Burgess who is a company driver. The second is Billy Jones who is the lead driver for Country Music star Alan Jackson and the third is 3 million mile Owner/Operator Ron Kelsey.
Right off the bat I noticed the amount of effort which must have went into producing this thing. The film quality is excellent and there was a great effort to keep the entire thing as real as possible. If you are a driver already I can tell you that this documentary will make you want to give a cheer by the time it is over and if you are not a driver then you will walk away with a good understanding of why we drive these things and what it is like to live out on the road.
The creator, M.D. Morgan , is a driver himself and his love for the life is obvious in this film. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is either already in the trucking industry or who is just interested in finding out what it is all about. Or in other words, Ramblin Man says, "Two Thumbs Up For A Mistress Called The Road!"
