Lake Powell Camp

All pictures presented here were taken by myself, my friends, or my family.

Getting ready to leave in the morning
Bigger?

This picture was taken one morning as I was driving my boat around to pick up passengers off the back of the house boat. The picture was taken from the top of the houseboat. I kind of like this one because it shows how calm and peaceful it is in the mornings. You will notice in many of these pictures that the water is almost glass. We spend about half the time exploring and the other half playing in the water (skiing, knee boarding, tubing or swimming). A lot of times we grab a map then randomly pick a canyon to explore.

Talking about mornings - how would you like to wake up and see this?

This picture was taken one morning in Padre Bay near Face Canyon.

Camping in Dungen Canyon

This scene right here is one of the biggest reasons I became a Lake Powell fan. After my mom and dad convinced my wife and I to go to Lake Powell and after the rush to get there, setup camp and get to bed - this is what I saw the next morning. This picture was taken with 8mm video.

Bath!

Camp life - this picture was taken when a number of us were taking a bath off the back of my brothers boat. It was taken with 8mm video. If you think this picture is funny you should see the video.

Since I metion my brothers boat here is a better shot. This was taken with 8mm video.

Camp with the house boat. This picture was taken when the water was low. I am standing at the high water mark.

This is not a camp picture but I didn't have a subject for it so I put it here. When we are driving around the lake its not uncommon for us to see something that looks like it may be fun to hike to and stop and hike to it. This is one of those times. If I remember right it turn out to be nothing but a fun little hike.

My dad had stayed in my boat to pick us up after the hike. When he did he backed the boat into the rock wall and totaled the prop. In the picture is me, my mom and a friend (Mark Red). Mark got me a new prop because of all the times we had taken him to the lake.

The next pictures are of my families new house boat.
