Network Properties

On most computers the network properties are setup for Internet access from the dealer. These sets are normally only used if you have problems or if you want to check the configuration.

1) Click on the Start button and select Settings then ControlPanel

2) Double Click on Network

3) Compare the screen to the example to the right. The items listed are the only items you need to connect to QContinuum. If access to QContinuum is the only network you are using I recommend removing any extra items. If you have these items and you are having problems skip to step 8. If you are missing the Dial-up Adapter click here for instructions on how to add dialup networking.

4) If you are missing TCP/IP click on the Add button

5) Highlight Protocol by clicking on it once and press the Add button.

6) Select Microsoft on the left and TCP/IP on the right and click Ok. You shouldn't have to setup TCP/IP but, if you have it setup from another installation you will need to change it. The following is the directions are for setting up TCP/IP. You only need to go on if TCP/IP was setup for another system and you need to change it. Other wise just press Ok and reboot the computer.

7) Select TCP/IP and click on the Properties.

8) Click on the Gateway tab.

9) If you have an entered gateway remove it.

10) Click on the DNS tab and change it to the same settings as on the image to the right.

11) Click Ok and Ok and restart the computer.

This should be all the setup you need for the Network Properties Control Panel.
