Note: You must have an account with QContinuum and have Dialup Networking setup to do this! See Easy Setup for more info.
I - Installing Client for Microsoft Networks
Note: If Client for Microsoft Networks is already installed on your machine, skip this step and move on to the next one.
- 1] Right click on Network Neighborhood
2] Click on Properties
3] Click on Add
4] Click on Client
5] Click on Add
6] Under Manufacturer, click on Microsoft
7] Under Network Clients, click on Client for Microsoft Networks
8] Insert your Windows95 install disks when prompted to do so
9] Click on Ok
10] Restart your computer when prompted to do so
II - Name your computer
- 1] Right click on Network Neighborhood
2] Click on Properties
3] Click on the Identification tab
4] For Computer Name, enter any name you want to call your computer. You must enter a name but it doesn't matter what it is.
5] For Workgroup, enter QContinuum (This is case sensitive)
6] For Computer Description, enter anything you would like to
7] Move straight on to Step III
III - Modifying the LMhosts.sam file
- 1] Click on Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Notepad
2] Click on File -> Open
3] In the File Name box, type "c:\windows\lmhosts.sam"
4] Scroll down until you see this:

5] Change it so it looks like this:

7] In the File Name box, type "c:\windows\lmhosts" (do not put an extention)
8] Click on Save
9] Click on File -> Exit
IV - Mapping a network drive
- 1] Connect to QContinuum
2] Double-click on Network Neighborhood
3] Double-click on QContinuum (If you don't see QContinuum skip to the next section).
4] Right-click on your QContinuum name
5] Click on Map Network Drive
6] Select the drive letter you want
7] Click on Reconnect at Logon
8] Click on Ok
V - If you don't see QContinuum
- 1] Right-click on Network Neighborhood and select Map Network Drive
2] Enter \\qcontinuum\username. Note: Replace the word username with your real username (example: horne is my username so I would enter \\qcontinuum\horne).
3] Select the drive letter you want
4] Click on Reconnect at Logon
5] Click on Ok
There, you should be all set to enter MS Explorer to transfer, edit, rename, delete, and copy files to and from your FTP space as though there were located on your machine.
